Ingredients

Scale

Main Ingredients

  • 600g boneless chicken thighs
  • 100g smoked turkey bacon, sliced
  • 1 cup plant-based dairy cream
  • 1 medium onion, diced
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tbsp vegetarian Worcestershire sauce (natural)
  • 2 tbsp apple cider vinegar
  • 1 tsp smoked paprika
  • 2 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tsp natural gelling agent
  • Salt, to taste
  • Black pepper, to taste

Instructions

  1. Prepare and Sear the Chicken: Pat the chicken thighs dry and season with salt, pepper, and smoked paprika. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Add the chicken pieces and sear each side until golden brown, about 4-5 minutes per side. Remove the chicken and set it aside.
  2. Cook the Smoked Turkey Bacon and Aromatics: In the same skillet, add the smoked turkey bacon slices and cook until crispy. Remove and chop into bite-sized pieces. Sauté diced onion and minced garlic in the rendered fat until fragrant and softened, around 3 minutes.
  3. Build the Creamy Sauce: Pour apple cider vinegar and vegetarian Worcestershire sauce (natural) into the skillet and stir to deglaze the pan. Lower the heat and stir in the plant-based dairy cream and natural gelling agent to thicken the sauce. Let it simmer gently for 5 minutes, stirring frequently.
  4. Combine and Finish Cooking: Return the chicken and bacon pieces to the skillet, coating them well with the creamy sauce. Cover and simmer on low heat for another 10-12 minutes until the chicken is fully cooked and tender.
  5. Garnish and Serve: Sprinkle chopped fresh parsley over the top immediately before serving for a vibrant finish.

Notes

  • Patting the chicken dry ensures even browning and a better sear.
  • Stir gently and avoid boiling vigorously to maintain a smooth, creamy sauce.
  • Adjust salt and seasoning gradually, especially after adding vinegar and vegetarian Worcestershire sauce.
  • Add fresh herbs at the end to preserve their aroma and color.
  • Let the chicken rest off heat if slicing for better juiciness.
