Description

Deviled Eggs are a classic appetizer featuring hard-boiled eggs filled with a creamy, zesty mixture enhanced by smoky turkey bacon and plant-based ingredients. This recipe delivers a perfect balance of flavors and textures, easy to customize and ideal for any gathering or special occasion.

Ingredients

Scale

Eggs and Base

  • 6 large eggs, hard-boiled

Filling

  • 3 tablespoons plant-based mayonnaise (natural)
  • 1 teaspoon apple cider vinegar (natural)
  • 1 teaspoon yellow mustard (natural)
  • Salt, to taste
  • Black pepper, to taste
  • Pinch of natural gelling agent

Additional Flavor and Garnish

  • 3 slices smoked turkey bacon
  • 2 tablespoons fresh chives, chopped
  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika (natural)

Instructions

  1. Boil the Eggs: Place the eggs in a pot and cover them with cold water. Bring the water to a gentle boil, then turn off the heat and cover the pot. Let the eggs sit in the hot water for 12 minutes. Drain, then transfer the eggs to an ice bath to cool completely for easy peeling.
  2. Prepare the Filling: Peel the cooled eggs carefully, then slice each egg in half lengthwise. Scoop out the yolks into a mixing bowl. Add plant-based mayonnaise (natural), apple cider vinegar (natural), yellow mustard (natural), salt, pepper, and a pinch of natural gelling agent. Mash and mix everything together until the filling is smooth and creamy.
  3. Add Smoked Turkey Bacon: Cook the smoked turkey bacon until crisp, then crumble it finely. Stir most of the bacon bits into the filling mixture, reserving a small amount for topping. This adds a smoky, savory depth to the filling.
  4. Fill the Egg Whites: Using a spoon or a piping bag, fill each egg white half generously with the yolk mixture. Smooth the tops or create gentle peaks to enhance the presentation.
  5. Garnish and Serve: Sprinkle the reserved turkey bacon bits over the filled eggs, then add fresh chopped chives and a dusting of paprika (natural). Chill the deviled eggs until ready to serve to allow flavors to meld.

Notes

  • Perfect peeling: Older eggs peel more easily when boiled.
  • Temperature cooling: Use an ice bath immediately after boiling to stop cooking and prevent a green ring around yolks.
  • Smooth filling: Add a small amount of natural gelling agent to maintain a smooth texture without stiffness.
  • Flavor balance: Taste the filling before stuffing and adjust acidity or seasoning gradually.
  • Presentation counts: Use a piping bag with a decorative tip for an elegant, party-ready look.
